Sit on the floor for 10 minutes
Spend some time on the floor instead of the sofa, shifting positions.

Why it helps
Getting down to the floor and back up uses your hips and legs in ways chairs do not. Changing position often keeps your body from locking into one posture.
How to do it
- Lay a mat or blanket down.
- Sit cross-legged, then switch to kneeling or legs stretched out.
- Change position every minute or two while you read or watch something.
Make it easier
Sit with your back against the sofa.
Make it harder
Stand up without using your hands each time you change position.
Use support if getting up is difficult.
