Why it helps
Tension often builds without us noticing. Checking in with each part of the body may help you catch stress early and relax a little.
How to do it
- Sit or lie down and close your eyes if comfortable.
- Move attention from your forehead down through shoulders, belly, legs and feet.
- At each spot, just notice, and let it soften if it wants to.
Make it easier
Scan only face, shoulders and hands.
Make it harder
Spend ten minutes and keep your attention on each area for a full breath.
