Why it helps
Sitting and staring at a screen can leave your neck and shoulders stiff. Slow movement may help loosen them and remind you to drop your shoulders away from your ears.
How to do it
- Roll both shoulders backward in big slow circles, five times.
- Tilt your right ear toward your right shoulder and hold for ten seconds.
- Repeat on the left side, then roll shoulders forward five times.
Make it easier
Only do the shoulder rolls.
Make it harder
Hold each neck tilt for 30 seconds and breathe deeply.
Move gently and stop if you feel pain, numbness or dizziness.
