Why it helps
This slow core exercise trains your abs to keep your back steady while your limbs move. That control is useful for almost everything you do.
How to do it
- Lie on your back, arms up, knees bent over hips.
- Lower your right arm and left leg toward the floor, keeping your back flat.
- Return and switch sides. Do six per side.
Make it easier
Move only your legs, one at a time.
Make it harder
Straighten the lowering leg fully.
Stop if your lower back lifts and hurts.
