Clean the inside of the microwave

Steam and wipe away splatters inside the microwave.

Why it helps

Splatters bake on and smell. Steam loosens them so they wipe off easily.

How to do it

1. Heat a bowl of water with lemon slices for three minutes.
2. Leave the door closed for a minute.
3. Wipe the walls and turntable.

Make it easier

Wipe only the turntable.

Make it harder

Clean the outside and door seal as well.

Use oven gloves, as the bowl and water will be hot.
