Ask why five times about a problem
Take one small problem and keep asking why until you reach the root.

Why it helps
The first explanation for a problem is usually only a symptom. Asking why repeatedly pushes you toward the cause you can actually fix.
How to do it
- Write down one small recurring problem, like being late in the morning.
- Ask why it happens and write the answer.
- Ask why again about that answer, five times in total, then note one fix.
Make it easier
Ask why just twice.
Make it harder
Do it for a bigger problem at work or home and test your fix this week.
